Real Time Information (RTI) – Is your business ready?

It is now only two months until HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) will require all employers to start reporting PAYE information in real time. This is called “Real Time Information” (RTI) and is required from 6 April 2013.

HMRC says that this will improve its PAYE operation and eliminate the incorrect or incomplete information that it receives every year.

An important difference to businesses is that HMRC will now have monthly information regarding your company’s PAYE liabilities and payments.  It will become aware of arrears building up as it happens and will be able to deal promptly with any non-payment or under-payment.
